How Green Is Your Classroom?

What makes a classroom eco-friendly? - Kate Warr makes us wonder in her article

She starts off by talking about energy efficiency and makes it clear that insulation used for residential houses is just as possible to use on buildings like schools or colleges. We learn about how important it is to put a stop on energy loss, telling us that 30-40% of it can be lost due to draught. Even though preservation of energy has the big role in making classrooms greener, there are many more things we need to look out for: Materials used to build classrooms - Use recycled materials! For wooden furniture - choose Timber. Doors and windows should be made out of aluminum. Use LED lamps - Turn the lights on only when it's necessary! Recycling bins - cardboard, paper, plastic. Print on both sides. Use mail instead of letters. Use projector instead of printing worksheets. Finally, teach your students, teach your peers, teach your colleges and make them environmentally conscious.

Welcome!

Hello, reader! Welcome to the Green It! blog. Whether you're here because you're interested in what I have to say, accidentally clicked on the wrong link or were curious to find out what the blog is about, I ask you to stay because I want to tell you about important things about our environment that you need to know.
Global warming, change of climate, extinction of species, ocean acidification are some terms we constantly hear when read about ecology. Even though many are familiar with these, not a lot of people realize how important it is to take action and do something to prevent these issues of becoming even bigger. That's why I am here and that's why, hopefully, you will join me in this mission of informing people about the condition of our planet and taking an action in making a better environment for us and future generations.
If the streets of your town look like this:

You need to know that something must be done about it now.
I'm pretty sure that most will agree that this scenery is extremely unpleasant, but it also leaves much deeper scars to our planet and that can leave consequences. Our planet is our home. We were born on it, we live on it, we will die on it, it feeds us and takes care of us, so it's only fair that we take care of it as well.

There is many things we could do to help make a difference. In today's world, technology enables us to contact and inform people everywhere about what we have to say. So, for a beginning, we should inform our peers, neighbors, families, relatives, exchange students we had that one year, about environmental issues that we are facing. It's easy! Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Instagram, e-mail, whatever it is you use, log in and tell your friends. Tell them where garbage belongs, how recycling helps and what planting a single tree could do. It doesn't matter if you're 10 or 30, if you're passionate about helping, making your town a better place for living and making a change, you can do this.
